Cookies & Local Storage

WaCommerce uses a small amount of browser storage to keep the service secure, remember essential choices and support sign-in and commerce flows.

1. What we mean by cookies and local storage

Cookies are small values stored by your browser and sent with relevant web requests. Modern web applications may also use browser storage, such as local storage, for similar functional purposes. This policy covers both where they are used by WaCommerce.

2. What we use them for

3. Authentication and external providers

WaCommerce uses external services for functions such as Google/Firebase authentication and, depending on the market and feature, may connect to payment or delivery providers. When you interact with those services, they may use their own cookies or browser storage under their own privacy terms.

4. Optional analytics and advertising

WaCommerce may offer optional Google Analytics measurement to understand public marketplace usage. The Google Analytics tag is not loaded until you explicitly allow analytics, and you can later change that choice from the Analytics preferences control in the footer. Advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalisation remain denied by this implementation. The core WaCommerce service does not depend on behavioural advertising cookies in order to provide catalogue, ordering, ticket or seller-panel functionality.

5. Your browser controls

You can delete or block cookies and local storage using your browser settings. Blocking essential session or authentication storage may prevent sign-in, seller-panel access, cart continuity or other protected functions from working correctly.

6. Privacy rights

Where browser information can identify or relate to an individual, its handling is subject to the privacy commitments described in our Privacy Policy and to applicable New Zealand privacy law.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this page when browser-storage practices, authentication, integrations or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the version currently presented to you.
